A new adventure

After making all these lovely collage papers the other day, i wasn't sure how i would use them.   Usually when i have collaged in a painting the pieces of paper get totally covered up, i just didn't know what else to do i guess.   So when i was looking at all these lovely prints on this beautiful sumi paper i was a bit stumped cos i really didn't want to just cover them all up!   Then this morning i was browsing the library on the Cold Wax Academy site I found a video from about a year ago with an artist that i was aware of, Sarah Post, and she was talking about collage and layers etc.   After watching her demonstrations and listening to her talk about why she uses collage paper it all made sense....she doesn't cover them up completely, but uses them as part of the shapes in the painting!   I was very inspired!  So i prepared 6 small cradled boards (10" x 10") and had a grand time this afternoon putting some compositions together.

Then, late afternoon, Terry and I headed up to Sydney and had a lovely walk around Delam Lake and then onto Sydney to do some shopping.

Dinner at our fave Chinese place and all is just fine here at Big Hill.

See extras for the other 2 compositions....i feel addicted!!!  Guess what i'm doing tomorrow :)
