Marijtje

Left Sloevag this morning at 04:00. On our way back to the Thialf, we passed this guard ship, standing by a buoy pattern close to our location. Since we were crossing her bow pretty close, I decided to take a picture. Her skipper told me that his vessel was a former Dutch fishing vessel, although he could not remember her former name or fishing number. After magnifying one of the pictures to about 1000%, I discovered her old welded name on the bow and that it was built as UK-257 in 1975. It said: SC-25 and the name 'Marijtje'. It is a very uncommon name (even in Holland) and I was pleasantly surprised to read this since it is also the name of my daughter.
