Old and unloved

I wasn't sure about today's blip. I guess I'm not used to or confident with shooting architecture and feel outside of my comfort zone.

This is the bogan house next door, currently unoccupied.

In it's time it would have been a gracious home. Houses of this era in NZ with delicate latice work along the top edge of the veranda showed you were 'well to do'. If the latice work was iron (like this house) rather than wood, then you were even more 'well to do'.

So much for an egalatarian society in the 'new country'.

But all that is history. This house is sadly unloved and is beyond restoration. The landlord even wishes someone would burn it down so he can claim insurance! Not that any of the neighbours would complain (but it would be unsettling and disturbing).

Still full of bugs and shuffling along.
