A dreary day

This morning, as usual on a Wednesday, hubby gave my 93-year-old uncle a lesson on how to use his iPhone. I think both of them get a lot of satisfaction from the session. While that was taking place I spent some time catching up on things that had been neglected for some time, which was very satisfying.

This evening we walked with the Pigeon Underground group.  We didn’t walk last week as we were at a lecture, but the week before we clocked 48:41 for the 5km.  Today we clocked 46.39 - 2 minutes faster! I was exceptionally pleased but hubby, who is not at all competitive, thought we should have improved by 1 minute this week and another minute next week.

I’ve cheated slightly with today’s blip.  I took the top photo of the St Heliers Bay Pigeon Racing Club sign but the bottom photo of the group at the finish of the run/walk was taken from the Pigeon Underground’s Facebook page.

There are 10,290 new community cases today, and the seven-day rolling average is 7,591 compared to 5,808 last Wednesday. The number of people in hospital is 522, including 10 in ICU. Today another 12 deaths have been reported, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,604 and the seven-day rolling average to 15.
