Pondlife?

TeeJay picked up her grandson today and we headed out to the Willowbank reserve. S had been a few times before I suspect and knew just where to go to check out all the animals. He chatted his way across bridges and checked out the eels and ducks and things.
Then he mistook green algae/growth on the pond as grass and went straight into the pond. TeeJay and I nearly had a heart attack as he fell into the water and struggled to get upright and out. Thankfully he had the presence of mind to try and head to where we were stood on the bridge and we hauled him out. He of course was soaked from head to toe, including lovely pondlife all over his wee face.
This is TeeJay comforting him (or him comforting her!!!) - he's wearing my fleece top because we literally had to rid him of all his clothes!

he spent the next hour or so talking about green water and whimpering. He soon perked up in the cafe with an ice-cream and then a hot chocolate on the house. He was also quite relieved to see his mother arrive with a new change of clothes.

Beejesus I haven't had a scare like that for a while!
