Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Oops

I spotted this notice when we were out for a walk after dinner tonight (and if you look closely you will see me too!).
With temperatures over 30 in the shade today, I guess there is not much call for tanning booths!
Today started warm but cloudy and in fact we had several showers during the day which felt like they were going to be heavy with big drops of rain, but in fact were of very short duration. We gave up taking in the washing after the second one.
Katy and the girls visited today and, not to miss out, Ali and Josie came too. We all had lunch in the garden. Eilidh was exhausted after a sleep over so spent most of the afternoon in the cool, sitting on my bed playing with Polly Pockets. She went home with some TinTin books to read and Isobel went home with our signed first edition of Bill's New Frock by Anne Fine. A fine story if you don't know it. They both love books, in Eilidh's case reading them herself and in Isobel's being read too.
We decided against the paddling pool again today as it would be tricky keeping Josie away, but the sun umbrellas were in high demand as was the beach shelter. The warm weather has continued into the evening, it's so still too which adds to the heat.
I wonder what is ahead of us tomorrow.
