The villa olives

It’s been another scorching day. The children played crazy monster games in the pool then chilled out with a film at the hottest part of the day, (we are adapting to the Italian way of life and having siestas/chill out time from 12.30-2.30). But actually it get even hotter till 5. They played in their rooms for a bit then had more swimming. They love the “bounce” app on Live on my phone so I had to take endless pictures of the boys jumping in in different ways, then seeing themselves jump back out backwards.

Ella hasn’t mastered diving so had more practices. She is fine doing it from the spacious step area but just hadn’t the nerve to do it from the side. It doesn’t help that the boys have no fear and can do it well.

The blip is part of the olive grove at the side of the house and the view across the valley.

Mr C and I aim to venture out to a local hilltop town tomorrow morning before it gets too hot. I’d like to go to Perugia but it is a big university city and Parking is a problem - the parking spaces are very narrow and someone scratched Phil’s hire car yesterday.

Mr C has bought flights to Benin! Newcastle/Paris/Lome. Home from Accra in Ghana to Paris and on to Newcastle. Just realised I have only 10 days at home before Scandinavia and 3 are at Edinburgh festival! The day I am due to go there’s a train strike.

We don’t get BBC and I’m longing to see the 10000 m women’s final. Sounds like an amazing run.
