Quod oculus meus videt

Sunrise Dog Walker

So enjoyable to be up early enough for a good sunrise.  In the past this was a regular thing, but working from home means I'm not out and about as early.  I had been tempted to go for a swim, but my back is still sore from golf on Wednesday.  It's typically taking two to three days to get over a game.

I headed for Pelsall North Common and was rewarded by great skies and mist coming up off the canal.  The temperature was much lower, courtesy of a cold front that had swept down the country yesterday.  The main shot was on an area of land previously used as an iron works, served by the canal that splits the common in two.  The extra shows the junction with the Cannock Extension canal that originally served coal mines in the Southern Staffordshire coalfields.  it used to cross the A5 towards Norton Canes but that is now its terminus.

We've had a rough day with Fleur.  She's been off her food for a couple of days or more so we got her into the vets this morning.  She's had various tests but nothing so far conclusive.  We even had to take her back this evening for further blood tests after the original test sample clotted before it could be tested.  It's a worrying time, we're hopeful that the treatment they've administered will make her better, but only time will tell.
