Corvus

Today was always going to be a blip anti-climax after the unexpected visit to the train driver's cab yesterday! A fair bit of work done including more exam questions, more longlists and CDSAs, plus a planned walk re-arranged...but not much of interest visually.

When I nipped out to the letterbox I saw this rather scruffy bird hunched over something disgusting on the pavement; at first glance I though it was an over-sized pigeon but it turned out to be a disheveled crow. A young one, I think - possibly one of the local hybrids between Corvus corone and Corvus cornix with those pale arse feathers. When I tried to move in for a closer look he glared at me and hopped away.
