Taking In The Atmosphere

This afternoon we headed into Corfu Town or Kerkyra as is known locally. We parked easily on the outskirts and wandered through the esplanade. We stopped for a drink and some snacks and then spent the rest of the afternoon wandering the streets with no real purpose other than taking in the atmosphere.

It’s a lovely town with a strong Venetian influence, narrow streets in between high townhouses, meant it kept cool and shady. We stopped for cocktails late afternoon and as we were still there in the evening we stayed for dinner in a restaurant on the Liston, a French built long arcade building with superb arched terraces. Probably not the cheapest place to eat, but the food was delicious, the service excellent and a stunning location.
