BethaBlip 77...

This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I take the same photo in the same place each 1st and 15th of each month along with a wee diary of what has happened and how life has progressed for each of them. Bethany on the 1st and Ewan on the 15th. It is quite remarkable and is accentuated by the 1 year ago thumbnail down in the bottom right.

We've moved past James and the Giant Peach and onto Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. I don't remember ever reading it and obviously neither have the kids, so it's good all round.

Today was in itself was worthy of a significant behaviour note. Not good or bad behaviour, but point of character. Bethany has this not doing things by halves sort of attitude which presented itself in two different situations. She's been banging on at me about putting the paddling pool up. It has been sunny but by no means has it been hugely warm. I finally told her that even thought we're don't have the weather for it, the pool was in the loft and I wasn't going up for it. Bethany's solution... She decided to go paddling in a bucket. Not only that, she went upstairs and changed into her swimming cozzie and so there was her and her friend from next door sitting on a bench with their feet in a B&Q orange bucket and a mop bucket respectively. Mad as a brush.

She was then footering about as dinner was put on the table. Everyone was sat down and she was upstairs, not getting changed out of her cozzie but kept saying that she was making a surprise for Ewan. This surprise thing didn't register with us until they went up to bed. She'd set out sleeping bags on her bedroom floor for both her and Ewan for a mini-camp out. Completely off her own back without any suggestion from us. It was rather sweet and impressive.

She is carrying her scooter like this only because that is how she's carried in on the last leg of the journey from school the last couple of days. I don't really understand why, but this and the stories above are the reason for this monthly recording.

Oh, almost forgot. She got new glasses this month. Prescription is slightly better and has been suggested that they could get better still, especially if she stops looking over the top of the as she is here.
