BethaBlip 89...

This is my monthly track of my children as they grow to see how they change as time goes by. I take the same photo in the same place each 1st and 15th of each month along with a wee diary of what has happened and how life has progressed for each of them. Bethany on the 1st and Ewan on the 15th. It is quite remarkable and is accentuated by the 1 year ago thumbnail down in the bottom right.

So the big thing in Bethany's life this month is the ball of fluff stood next her here. Bethany is always cautious about dogs which is quite a good thing in a way. She used to be afraid of most dogs but has learned to tolerate all but the really jumpy of them thus far. She's getting on really well with Milly although of course she has no choice in the matter now as she is well and truly embedded in the house. Bethany was in fact the first to go for a full on bag it and bin it.

We had a bit of an issue with school this month. The monday problem still persists a wee bit but she hurt her foot on the trampoline over a weekend. We had to take her to the hospital for x-rays but it was just a sprain. She had most of that week off but she seemed to be moving an awful lot easier the next weekend. She started really wingeing about it the next day for school but she was more complaining about wanting to go home rather than the foot injury. We assumed along with the school staff that she was alright on the foot and hamming it a bit. It was a bit of a rude awakening for her.

She's gone into the top reading group this month. They've been given a book to read this week and she's read it twice. I was always a bit sceptical about how much she actually takes in. I read a bit of it and it does seem like she is completely reading it. The problem is, she thinks it's too easy and she's not being challenged. Getting really upset about it. I told her that she can basically read any word and she can read very fast so that's not where the challenge is. The challenge is in reading it interesting. I've challenged her to learn how to read books with interesting inflections. Hopefully it will work.
