Soaking

After a day of not doing very much, apart from setting a loaf going, I decided I’d get started on this year’s Christmas cake. I have a few recipes that I rotate through but I’ve settled on the same one as 10 years ago, seemed apt. Of course it won’t be exactly the same as I always vary the mix a bit and even more so because I’d no rum or brandy to hand for soaking the fruit and instead went for a Bavarian whisky / port mix. That should do the business!
