Dr Elsie Inglis

There’s been something of a stooshie here in Edinburgh about a sculpture. There are only two women celebrated in Edinburgh through public sculptures. Queen Victoria, of course, and Mary Queen of Scots. So the mess the trustees made of the process to recognise the good doctor has made headlines, as you can see..

One of our friends, and someone who has been a great inspiration to Eve, was one of the artists they messed around. And nobody messes Natasha around. As they discovered.

Anyhow, this afternoon she had an event to hand over her pitch work to the permanent collection of the Surgeon’s Hall Museum. So, Eve and I went along to offer our support and listen to the celebration of Elsie Inglis’s life.

Got home for Mrs S to run me down to Longniddry for a beer and some footie before picking me up again a few hours later. Busy old day.
