Royal spoonbill on the wing

A flock of spoonbills were feeding today on the Avon Heathcote estuary - lovely day, blue sky, but a cool wind. These are stunning birds, though at the moment they are not in breeding plumage as they have arrived here to feed and rest for the winter.
