Rallye Sport Escorts Lakes Tour 2013

No, I didn't pop south for the weekend for the Rallye Sport Escorts Lakes Tour 2013, but the droves of old Escorts and other Fords racing through Alston this morning offered a blip opportunity too good to miss.

We were in Alston to catch the War on the Tyne exhibition on tour from its base in Haltwhistle. If you follow my journal, you will already know how I learnt about the exhibition from WalkingMarj, my family's contribution to the display, and my mother's recent media appearances related to her memories of prisoners of war in the 1940s. We missed the exhibition in Haltwhistle, so were delighted yesterday to hear that part of it had moved to another venue. It was well worth the drive to see the exhibition in Alston - and the cars too ;-)
