Up Country.....

.....is what we call this area but the correct name is The McKenzie Country. Rugged, barren land, golden grasses and tussock covered, with merino sheep sparsely farmed. Only just over an hour from the coast and our home, it is surrounded by beautiful mountains, lakes and much more. Further back (and behind these three) is Mount Cook our highest mountain....12300 feet.

Today, we were in the Lake Tekapo area filming for the promo of our Southern Regional Photographic Convention which we are running in October this year. We dressed three of our committee in the driazabone coats and hats to give a back country sheep station feel to the movie. They are sweltering in these heavy coats, as you can see its an awesome day with temperatures reaching into the 20 degs.
We did stills and video, which will be combined. This technic is called Fusion, once edited etc will be loaded onto our website for all to see.

I could have showed you the beautiful blue of Lake Tekapo (many of you know of its scenic powers) but I've gone for this one as it shows our three stars giving long shadows from the late afternoon sun. The golden grasses were even more beautiful as the sun dipped behind the Southern Alps behind us.

What fun we have had, a bonza day :) Its tiring being a directors assistant, I never had a "directors chair"!!!!
