Carols in the Community Garden

There was a lot going on in the village this afternoon - could not got to everything as they overlapped, but I got to the ‘alternative carol service’ in the Methodist Church (2.0 -3.30pm) Alternative’ as there were secular songs as well as carols, sketches and recitations, and the collection was not money but food for the homeless shelter. The event in the garden (4 -5pm) was mainly for children - Santa’s ponies were there with a little cart which was collecting food for the food bank while the carols were performed by a local adult group assisted by the local primary school choir. The weather was kind - milder than earlier in the week and dry. There was also a concert in the Village Hall by the Littleport Brass Band which overlapped both the other events (3-5pm) so I couldn't make that.
Lovely to see so much support in the community.
