Yorkshire Cubism

Blip meet with Wendy and Mr John today.

We were initially meant to be meeting in Saltaire but I had read on twitter about a mystery cube that had landed in Bradford which has quickly developed a cult following so we headed for City Square instead .

Immovable is a project by Mind The Gap theatre group which is set up for people with learning difficulties . We met the woman in charged of it and also some of the artists. They all shared an infectious excitement and enthusiasm about staging their work.

No one has provided an explanation about what "Immovable" means. I wonder if it's about challenging our fixed , immovable ideas about what people can and can not do.

This group have brought mass attention to the city today .

There are times when the cube is left unattended for the public to play with ( and we did , unbeknown to us people were taking photos of us blipping and climbing it ok trying to climb it and other times when it is used by the actors. There was someone sun bathing in a deckchair on it and later it gave stage to someone else having a bath with a giant rubber duck. It was a surreal day but amazingly refreshing and a fine example of how Bradford champions diversity.

I only wish I could have stayed longer.

No one knows when the cube will go , I expect it will disappear as quickly and as unexpectedly as it arrived

I am heading back tomorrow to see if I can catch it again
