Hogging the Limelight

I was taken by surprise to find it was several degrees warmer outside today than inside- temperature reversal. I actually had to take my gloves off and unwrap my scarf as I made my inspection of the marches. You could almost hear the cries of delight from the crocuses as they opened wide their petals to the warmth.. Interestingly, the bold brazen, yellow crocuses have had their day and it’s the purple and white ones that still live to brighten the Meadows.

Someone has obviously taken the trouble to plant these tulips at the foot of a lamppost in Warrender Park Road. At first I thought they were plastic so intense were the colours, but on closer inspection they were bona fide  natural tulips.
