What are the chances!!!!
We left Hoddesdon around 11 this morning. We got to bed at 1am...which instantly became 2am with the clocks moving on an hour, so slept a bit later. With a need to get on the road, we said our goodbyes to mum and Rod who were both still a bit jet lagged, so also adjusting to the loss of another hour wasn't ideal for them. But as everyone knows, Jon doesn't like to miss his morning coffee, so we decided to stop at Dobbies in Melbourn briefly, in order to get his fix.
We had just sat down with our coffee, when Jon spotted his old Wandlebury Rangers Claire and Nick in the distance. He dashed over to catch them, and we enjoyed an hour catching up. It has been a couple of years since we saw them, so it must have been fate that we stopped off today! They now work on the Magog Down doing a brilliant job of managing the area for the Magog Trust.
So it has been a proper weekend of meeting up with old friends, and we couldn't have been more pleased. We got back on the road eventually getting home at just after 3.
I cooked a chicken curry for dinner (you can never have too much curry in one weekend) and while it simmered, together with the Christmas pudding I made in November, we did today's exercises. (Jon is keeping me on track exercising 4 times a weekend!)
After a really lovely weekend spent with my lovely husband, and meeting so many old friends, I'm feeling exhausted - and I didn't even do the drive! So I'm thinking an early night is going to be necessary in order to get up in time to get to Norwich for 8am tomorrow!
