Live it loud!

Black Bart

A few hours in the spring sunshine today at Watford Locks which are sandwiched between the M1 and A5 just south east of Rugby.
The flight of locks were very busy, especially heading up the flight of locks.

This narrowboat is Black Bart which is named after the Welsh pirate Bartholomew Roberts 1682-1722.
I spent an age talking to one half of the couple  (and his dog) who own and live on this narrowboat. They are heading down towards London and then heading up the Thames. A life just pootling up and down the country with nowhere specific to be nor a deadline to be there.
They had been waiting for quite sometime at the top of the flight of locks waiting for the lock-keepers to clear the constant stream of boats heading up the staircase.

A few images towards the end of my Canals Album on Flickr --> here!
