Cycling the City of Arts and Sciences and beach

Another hectic day!

The apartment has city bikes for us to borrow if we wanted .  So we did.  It’s very safe and easy to cycle here as everywhere has dedicated cycle lanes.  No dicing with death next to crazy drivers on the main road.  Why can’t we have that in the U.K.?

Anyway, it’s a 15 minute cycle to the modern part of the City which was built on the former Turia  river bed when they changed the river layout after it flooded the city in 1957!  What a fabulous idea using the river to make the oasis of green with wide  walkways, fountains, trees and the old bridges remaining too.  The architecture of city of arts and sciences are futuristic and really cool.  It’s a modern day marvel these new buildings.  Fabulous for cycling too and also very disabled friendly.

We then went on to the beach and had lunch there in a beach club.  Another fabulous meal in lovely surroundings.

We then cycled back to the apartment for a chill out and then out again later to look at old building facades, the bullring, the train station.  We ended up in the old town for our snack/evening meal Sitting in the Cappuciono Grand Cafe looking out on the La Paz and listening to a blues band.

Absolutely knackered tonight and a text from my mum telling me to have a rest day!!!
