Smashing Day!

The day began with parkrun and I was marshalling by the big tree which meant my photos were all of folks coming uphill, not always the best captures but there were lots of greetings and smiles and waves which is what makes volunteering at parkrun fun.  We had over a hundred taking part today who were not still in bed or on the settee at home so we come away with a sense of it being worthwhile.

There was just time for a quick cuppa, change of clothes and a turnaround before heading out to be collected by S, Wilsden Walker for a Hobbler celebration of friend Angela's birthday.  Angela had requested lunch and pottery painting at Cobbles & Clay in Haworth, a favourite venue for all of us and it was a lovely couple of hours.  My blip makes everyone look very serious because they are all concentrating hard on their painting, but in fact there were lots of stories and much laughter.  The Café was very busy, as was Haworth, so we felt a bit bustled out as there was a children's party booked in to our space, so Angela's suggestion of having a drink before home was well received and we sought out a pub behind the Church which had tables in the welcome  sunshine.

We now look forward to seeing what our creations: two plant pots; teapot; plate and lizard will look like after firing!
