My Kind of Plant

A great day with Ruth in Birmingham.  We've got lots of useful things done around the garden, a mix of preparing for the start of adaptations work and doing things with the garden and plants.  I've cut down one of four big clumps of bamboo at the back of the garden, weeded between the slabs out front, moved a lot of pots around and helped Ruth with potting on tomato and pumpkin plants.  We had a constructive meeting with one of the managers at the company who will do the work here, slightly revising the plans.  These need to be agreed by the council grant department and by the home ownership team as the council also hold the freehold.   Another short delay but hopefully in a couple of weeks we'll have a start date for the work.

We took Meg on a nice early evening walk in Cotteridge Park, spotting this super campanula literally growing in a crack in the wall outside one of the terraced houses we passed on our way.  The park, one of many super green spaces in this part of the city, is on undulating land and as well as wide grassy areas has lots of big old trees and there's 'The Shed', a community hub where various activities are held and great hot chocolate can be had.  Unfortunately we were too late for the latter today.
