Poppies and a red door

Luckily the traffic lights in the High Street ( open reach again ) had turned red just outside Clematis cottage. I love this little row of cottages with their pretty curb side gardens. This one is a self catering now. We know the lady who used to live there , she has an allotment that was opposite our plot.
Today marks the 79th anniversary of the D Day
Lamdings. Our coast line , including Fortrose played a significant part in the training before hand with tanks being brought to Fortrose by road and then put on the amphibious craft and sailed across the water to Fort George. Warships were moored between Avoch and Fortrose with a special scaffolding pier was built which was dismantled after the war.
We had a skip delivered today so that we can get rid of the old decking and bits and pieces that have gathered over the years.
My injections arrived early. We had just popped out to get some lunch so had to head back as they have to be stored in the fridge. We went down to Udale Bay once they had been carefully stored to eat our lunch. The yellow iris and thrift are blooming well. Families of starlings sat on the fence while swallows swept to and fro. I think they have a nest on the bird hide.
Sunny all day :)
