Nor'west Arch Light

The nor'west arch was very close to the mountains today, so that the special light as the sun passes through the gap lasted barely a minute. It was a moment of glory.

Wikipedia on Canterbury's nor'west arch. The sky is not blue. That's the underside of the clouds.

The day was ideal for sawing logs. I spent 6 hours (not counting the half hour for lunch) on the job, and was pleased to get a large amount done. Practically all the logs in the four cubic metres I have bought this season are too big for my firebox. So far I have used most of what I have sawn, but I need to get way ahead to avoid running out in bad weather. I am now rather weary, with several sore places.
