Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

2023 Tuesday — Shine

Collage of the Sunshine Health Food Store — We have nicknamed this place “The Shine.” We have not stopped here much in recent times, but back in 2014 for approximately 2 1/2 years we lived a vegan diet lifestyle and often visited this little store of wonder.

Today I went there looking for raw milk. I found it. Expensive, yes. Egads! Did I purchase any? Not yet. I would like to, though, because I want to make yogurt; the very best kind full of natural probiotics. Have you noticed the price tag on a bottle of probiotic tablets?

So I am going to recheck to make sure that I have the directions (I attended an online workshop to learn how). Then I will go back to The Shine to purchase raw milk.

We also went to the kite store to purchase some decorative windsocks for our backyard. We enjoyed a street taco at the “Taco de Mexico” cafe; we stopped at Rite•Aid to purchase vitamins and met a lady who told us the name of a dog groomer in Cayucos; we stopped at the Morro Bay library Friends Store where I bought a “Better Homes and Gardens New Cook Book” and the DVD of the movie “Notebook” based on the book by Nicholas Sparks (we’ve watched it we think several times in the past, but tonight it was almost like brand new). What we wanted to borrow in the library was the movie “Calendar Girls.” They did not have it but we can order it from another library in our library system. For our evening meal we enjoyed lasagna and fresh “baked today” French bread with a pre dinner luscious spinach, strawberry, and goat cheese salad.

And well, that was our Tuesday.
