2023 Sunday — From a Distance

This afternoon I received this photo from our daughter. She explained that she was at church waiting for the third worship service to begin and her words were “Pastor Jack is out among the people.” I think she was pretty excited to see him right there in the auditoriumI think that happens seldom.

I think every Sunday morning Pastor Jack Hibbs is out in the courtyard after, or between, morning services. He is a people person to the Nth degree. Having a large congregation surely presents a new and different behavior for Pastor Jack and it must be difficult to have a quality meaningful conversation, just snippets here and there.

On rare occasion we are in SoCal and attend church in person, but we usually attend church online — either by way of You Tube, or CalvaryCCH dot org, or the Real Life Network, or Facebook — and I am quite amazed at the number of people the calculator shows are also live-streaming. His congregation is now international and that is quite evident if I look into the chat room and watch where people are from.

Pastor Jack is all about having a relationship with Jesus and reading the Bible. He has absolutely no tolerance for “religion.” He is quite a historian. He is a very good speaker; his energy level is high. We are delighted to be part of Pastor Jack’s congregation.

There are several preachers in America that we learn from: Pastor Alistair Begg in Cleveland is an excellent teacher; pastor Chuck Swindoll from Texas is another excellent preacher; also from Texas Pastor Hagee is someone we hear occasionally and learn a lot from him.

I am so thankful Jesus is the Lord of my life. He has blessed my life immensely. People who do not believe in God have ignored the evidence — there is plenty of proof that Jesus lived, died, and resurrected — they surely don’t realize they are going to live forever and the penalty for their unbelief is real.
