Transit

Menorca - Day 1

Waking the little ones at 04.30, we set off on our big adventure.

A smooth flight saw us arrive in Menorca at noon, and then just another forty minutes transit to Cales Piques in the north-west corner of the island, which would be our home for the next week.

As we weren't to stray more than half a mile from the resort for the rest of the week, I thought I'd share this bit of Menorcan landscape from the journey across. It was greener than I was expecting, although it may get drier as the summer progresses. This spot is in the small area of hills that lie near the centre of the island, foothills of El Toro. Clearly the harvest comes earlier in Menorca.

We spent the afternoon pottering about the apartment complex and the resort and meeting the local feral cat population before curling up under a palm tree by the pool.
