Butterfly
Sunshine and then clouded over. About 14C.
A late start and walk down to the village for the weekend Yorkshire Post.
Noticed there were dozens of insects on the Ivy. It covers nextdoor’s high wall which borders the lane. Difficult to photograph as the sun was in my eyes, but managed a photo of this battered looking red admiral butterfly.
The plan was to do some gardening after lunch, but a friend called. Haven’t seen M for a couple of months. Surprising how much catching up there is. So after coffee and a slice of orange tea loaf two hours passed very quickly.
However I did manage an hour pulling up the runner beans, and dead heading many other plants.
We have had the last of the vegetables for our evening meal. Sweet corn, beans, and courgettes. All delicious with some tarragon and mushroom chicken.
Still just a few lettuces left.
MrC very happy with the Leeds result. He also watched the England rugby match, and thought they played better now their captain is back.
Felt a bit chilly, and so have lit the fire for the first time this winter!
