Spooky Two

For those who may know, that was one of my favourite albums in the early '70s.

This piece of yarn bombing is outside our local library which, since we came out of lockdown has become a real community hub. An active 'friends of the library' group has been formed and they are doing a wonderful job at getting people into the library. Not just to borrow and read books but to do other things while they are there. The building was designed with lots of little areas so that people don't disturb others
There are groups meeting all through the week, reading, doing crafts, computing training, gardening - there is a large central garden as well as the planters, mother and toddler groups, small children's singing groups, bookbug meetings, activities for children on Friday afternoons, coffee mornings for charity, art exhibitions, book groups, the list goes on.
Sadly though, for the last month the library has been closed, opened in 1966, (I remember the old library, housed in two temporary timber huts where the car park now is) it has fallen foul of the latest building concern, it has RAAC concrete. Until the building has been properly surveyed, it will remain closed . I do hope it can pick up again when it does reopen, in the meantime there is a mobile library serving the area a couple of days a week.
The knit & natter group are now meeting in the parish church and have been busy decorating the area for Halloween. I stood on the A90 Queensferry Road to take this blip, I did wait till the traffic lights had changed and the road was empty though .
