One small detour, one more motel room...

A motel for the
night, a short visit with aunts,
Off and gone by noon.

Time is precious for elderly aunts, 85 and 93. We drive to their small town to squeeze in a dinner with them before dark. Betty, the youngest, drives them both to our rendez-vous. They are bright eyed and delightful over dinner. I marvel at their activity level and how engaging they are. These sisters, both widows now, have each "retired" to a seniors' complex. They laugh at the difficulties of aging and relate family stories we have not heard before. Each is a treasure to us.
