Day 2

It seems a bit early in the project for the old cliche of the builders working on another job at the same time as mine, but that's what was happening this morning. They finally rocked up in the afternoon, and made short work of ripping out the old kitchen. The floorboards are going next door to P & S who will make use of them in their wood-burner. It's only fair, they did lay the majority of them when they lived here before us.
Discovery of the day was a stopcock for the outside tap, in a completely-inaccessible location then, and in the future. It's worth having the outside tap on its own stopcock, so we'll see if we can come up with some techie solution for that.
Down to one man from two tomorrow, so I think it's going to be more stripping-out.
Had a conversation with the site manager about the front door which has been delivered, and the fact that the glazing plan is very different from the one I thought had been ordered - all down to two different window manufacturers using the same descriptive term for very different glazing schemes.
