Scottish Provident Building
The headquarters build of the Scottish Provident Institution stood on a prominent corner of St Andrew Square. It was one of most striking and (in my opinion) one of the handful of truly successful 1960s buildings in Edinburgh. Naturally few mourned when it was demolished in 2014.
It was a nice surprise to find the model made from old furniture in the City Art Centre exhibition to promote the Scottish Landscape Awards.
Other Pictures: The architecture of Archibald Leitch dominates Dens Park, Dundee. The Station is less impressive.
