Life in Sunny Dubai

Take a number please...

Guess they've prepared themselves and their customers for spending some time on the premises!

This is NOT my bank I hasten to add, but I did pay a little visit to my branch who have a much nicer seating area and fewer people in queue. It's been fantastic banks opening branches in Malls as 1. they have Free COVERED Parking and 2. they keep Mall times, more convenient for the customer!

Watched Monsters University at Mercato prior to this. We were there to get some more canvasses printed. Poor G, she felt her steering not quite right and when she parked up, noticed she had a flat tyre. She also (thankfully) remembered that her insurance had roadside assistance built-in, so we called and they sent a man over within 30 minutes. Incredible!

Went to the tyre shop to get the wheel repaired and put back on and were asked to pay just 20 dirhams for it!! (That's just over $5 or £3.50). It was so ridiculous, G gave him more. There you go - that's Dubai for you. Far too expensive for some things, and ridiculously under-priced for others.

PS. Please note the Arabic writing on top of the English... that is standard here. The great thing is that you do have English most everywhere - road signs etc.
