Good Mooning

Shortest day of our southern hemisphere year today.

We've had such lousy weather most of this week that it's hard to believe this colour is true - but it is - no colour touch-ups here. All I've done to this is crop it to try to give an idea of just how huge the moon appeared and show some of the texture. Timing of course being the key - it was just starting to come on to dusk so the colour is really intense.

On my way home this afternoon this is the view that was in front of me. So I thought a moon shot would be fairly appropriate for the shortest day. A tad lopsided as it's not quite full.
