Travelling to Mull

We travelled on from Kintyre to Mull catching a ferry from Oban. The ferry crossing was particularly enjoyavble (see Leaving Oban ) as it was a nice sunny day. My blip is of Duart Castle which is very prominent on the island as you approach the ferry terminal at Craignure. As we had some time to kill before booking in at our hotel just up the road from the ferry terminal we decided to vist the the castle. It is a real scottish stronghold with walls a couple of metres thick. The family history was quite chequered and the exhibits though interesting were displayed in a whole mishmash of amatuerish styles. Our hotel was also sort of run down sixties style though the food was reasonable despite the fact that they cater for a lot of coach partiers. However, it was in a really nice setting with gardens that ran down to the water line and I spent most mornings before breakfast wandering around on the beach taking photos. See attached photos
