Keep to the Pavement.
The Arnside Silverdale area has a very wide variety of habitats and a large number of walks either from our front door or in less than ten minutes in the car. Even so if you try to do a walk every day, other than when ice, snow or torrential rain prevents it, it is inevitable that the same areas will come round every few weeks.
So today it was the turn of the Gait Barroes National Nature Reserve. It has many interesting things such as Duke of Burgundy Fritillaries and Britain’s smallest snail. But its outstanding features are large areas of Limestone Pavement.
