Constiuency advice surgeries today on Islay & Jura. The weather alternated between bright sunshine , overcast drizzle and torrential, intense rain showers.

One of the last named burst upon us when leaving Jura on the wee ferry just after 4.00 this afternoon. When we got across the sound to Port Askaig it was still torrential but was also being shot through with shafts of sunlight, illuminating the hotel, the boats and the harbour.
