Gulls by the river

Chose the long way home by the river. It is my grand daughters 17th birthday in two days time and I wanted to buy her a card. It is hard to believe she is 17 and studying art, history and politics. It only seemed a short while ago that she was a babe in arms.
The extra is of her with her mum, my daughter.
Not sure why all these gulls were down by the river today? Just hanging around with a few ducks. The river levels have gone down but the flooded area is still very muddy. Debris washed down from the river is entwined around the benches where we sat feeding the ducks in the summer. At least it is a bit warmer today.
