Edinburgh Derby Day

And an important one for once - fourth round of the Scottish Cup and the famous, indeed glorious, Hearts have been drawn away to The Spartans. Tickets for Hearts supporters were rarer than hens teeth, but my brother-in-law used to play for Spartans and is a shareholder… and had four tickets! After a quarter of an hour we were already "a goal to the good,” and it looked like a totally one sided contest… but Spartans stuck in there and "chances were few and far between” despite Hearts having all the possession. You know the script; an excellent equaliser, time added on, a last gasp winner. We four stepped to the Raeburn to quaff four quick pints. Hearts, eh?
Home and out again to the Queens Hall to see Erland Cooper. Front row seats and an absolutely thrilling concert. What a lovely guy he is; serious music of course, even the point at which we’d all to play a soundtrack of gannets on our mobiles to make the place sounds like a gannet colony. Terrific.
