Parsimony

An old friend and colleague Dave has been in Tanzania for some consultancy work. We first worked together in Swaziland (now Eswatini) in 2007 and then were in Cambridge at the same time, before he then moved to Cape Town. After about ten years of not seeing each other, we went for dinner and caught up for hours until the staff hovered politely as the clock approached midnight.

We dined well on a table full of Lebanese dishes and I drank gallons of mint-based drinks. I could not decipher what was causing the green colour of this dip, accompanying some potato chunks.

Dave described me as having always been parsimonious, which is absolutely correct. Tonight was a good example of being slightly less parsimonious than normal and it being jolly enjoyable.
