Anemone

Such a hard word to say right!

Flowers bearing more than a passing resemblance to pulsatilla, but separated by their difference in fruit.  Pulsatilla have a long, hairy beak on the achenes which gives rise to the big fluffy seed heads which anemone lack.  This is Anemone coronaria 'De Caen Group,' cheaply available in garden centres and high street shops ... I don't just grow obscure rarities!   Sadly the slugs love the flowers more than I do but having moved the pot up onto my decking, I am enjoying a few pristine flowers.

A busy but mostly gentle kind of day.   Family time, a bit of pottery, a dog walk, lunch at Kings and tea at mine.  Ruth, Barbara and Mum started on the Tie Dying kit that Ruth bought to do with her Grandma.  It's been a good day.  Fun :-)
