twinned with trumpton

Up to the angry buzz of strimmers and lawnmowers outside the hotel; and after a hearty breakfast Alex and I took a half hour wander around the RIver Don and went back to pack up and head to Hull via Rotherham. Alex wanted to try and break into Millmoor, Rotherham Utd's old ground.

We had a good go at it but we were ill equipped to get in and out safely; but ... it's on the list for when we visit the New York Stadium across the way. After 15 years or more, it's still in good nick and I'd love a proper wander about. (see extra)

On to Hull; a quick supermarket shop, then parked up and wandered about town for a few hours; revisiting after last August's trip and showing Alex around.

After a sit down and a cuppa, it was off to the KCOM to see Hull City v Middlesborough; 9th v 10th in the championship; with theoretically both teams in with an outside chance of making the play offs.

Boro scored earlier; carving Hull open down the left and man of the moment Latte Lath poking Boro ahead.

By half time, Hull had turned it around; Philogene with belter and Boro gifted a second to the hosts.

Boro equalised with 20 minutes left but neither side could fashion a winner. A very watchable game; Alex loved his pulled pork burger, too.

Just the small matter of the 4.5 hours drive home lay ahead....
