twinned with trumpton

I dragged myself off to Leith to fetch the car and by 0930 had the boys in the car and was heading off to fetch Her; having done so we got as far as  the Jewel before I knew something wasn't right; so circled back to Enterprise at Duddingston and they advised me to head back to Seafield where they were expecting me. (The engine light was on and there was all sorts of random lights a poppin' on the dash board.)

Tom then announced that he didn't feel well enough to continue so back to Granton to drop him at his mother's and by midday, the three of us were scooting down the A1.

The delay meant the Yorkshire Sculpture Park reprise will have to wait as we landed up in Sheffield in rush hour.

Checked in, parked the car and after the briefest of looks at the town centre, Alex and I headed off on a tram to Hillsborough. My first visit since January 1987 when Derby exited the FA Cup at the hands of Wednesday. After queueing for chips (Alex eyes lit up at the variety of the fare on offer) it was onto the Kop and settle in to watch Norwich get handed a 2 goal lead after 20 minutes. IN truth had it been 4-0 at half time I wouldn't have been surprised. However, Wednesday hooked Diaby at half time and stuck on someone who could defend and grew into the game. The longer it went, the more you knew the next goal would be decisive; and when Wendesday nodded in from a corner with 15 minutes to go, you knew they had another one in them. Sure enough, the same inswinging corner routine paid dividends in the 86th minute and there was a frantic but fruitless finale.

A decent ground, a decent crowd, a decent game and we were extremely fortunate to jump straight onto a tram after the match and were back n the hotel about 25 minutes after the final whistle.

After the long day, I crashed quickly
