Evening Light

Coming home from Lina's 50th birthday, held at her delightful cafe, I took this picture from the waterside car park. It's shortly after 9 o'clock and though the white nights haven't arrived (as I write this it is almost fully dark!) this is a foretaste of life without darkness.
We spent a lot of the day outside doing various garden tasks. I worked on a corner of the garden where some shrubs had taken over a pile of logs and branches. I pulled all the logs away, some to burn and some to a rotting wood pile on the edge of the garden. Then the shrub was cut down very close to the ground with the chainsaw. The job is maybe half done but we had to stop to go to town. It was time to stop anyway - it's better to avoid the chainsaw when you feel tired!
