Judgement

So we left Cordoba late morning to catch the train to Madrid. And it was scheduled to take 2 hours and 13 minutes but just to rub it in how great their high speed rail service was we actually got in to Madrid Otacha station a whole 14 minutes early. And at points in the journey when the screen that showed the map and speed was indicating that we were traveling at 300 km/h...it did actually feel Really Quite Fast.

So, bus from the station to where we're staying, an Air BNB in a very residential suburb in the west of the city and where there seem to be absolutely no tourists whatsoever. We drank wine and ate snacks and soaked up the sun on our terrace before having a wander round the neighbourhood, a stroll down by the river, a supermarket stock-up on essentials. Transition day!
