75 Years Ago today....

..A4 Pacific 4468 Mallard set the world speed record for a steam train at 126 miles per hour, which incredibly still stands today. The record was set at Stoke Bank on the East Coast Main Line near Grantham.

In honour of this momentous occasion here is a blip of a teapot stand which my Grandad made for me many years ago which includes a painting of Mallard.
