Life in Sunny Dubai

New find

The mercury is rising, and the air-conditioners need to operate at their optimum. I've been putting off organising this item of maintenance as it doesn't always go smoothly, but it has to be done if you want your units to work well. Today was the turn of the bedroom a/c's. The team arrived at 9:30 and worked quickly. Thankfully, it was just a service with no parts needing to be replaced.

We had a problem with the restaurant downstairs, complaining of the water that was dripping. (The outside units get a thorough wash down). One of their customers got a little wet and made a big fuss, even calling the Municipality to come! Honestly. I quietly made a mental note to do this on a weekday next year.

Plans for a drive to Ras Al Khaimah got downsized to somewhere closer. We went to the Last Exit after ages. Lots has changed there. Geant has made way for Spinneys, which is yet to open, and they now have a cinema, clinic and gym. We chose a cafe to have a drink at. Wanderlust is unusual in that the section we sat in had pebbles on the floor, giving it a beach feel! The cheesecake was delicious. The weather was perfect. We're always so thankful for a cool evening at this time of the year.

Coming back to Karama was a nightmare. It took over an hour to cover 2km from Zabeel Park. :(

And I posted a new video before switching off for the day. :))
